About Us

The mission of Waunakee Area EMS is to provide efficient, high quality emergency medical care and maintain a commitment to being a resource for the public on issues pertaining to emergency medical care. We provide top quality pre-hospital medical care and life saving measures to the constituents we serve in the villages of Waunakee and Dane and the towns of Westport, Springfield, Vienna and Dane.

We pride ourselves on the family atmosphere we have among all of our membership, whether full-time, part-time or volunteer. We strive to be professional, empathetic, knowledgeable, personable and approachable with one another and with every person we serve. A respectful collaboration between our team, our municipal leadership and the community is essential to our success. We’re one of the busiest departments of our kind in the county, and we hold our providers to the highest standards as set forth by our leadership and our medical direction through UW Health.

While responding to calls and delivering care is always our top priority, we’re proactive as much as possible. We teach provide training to the community for CPR, Stop the Bleed and Basic First Aid and, more recently, have been committed to helping provide COVID vaccines at mass clinics throughout our district.

We’re proud to deliver essential services to keep our community as safe, healthy and strong as possible.
