Chief’s Welcome

Welcome! Thank you so much for landing on the Waunakee Area EMS website. Whether you’re a member of one of the communities we serve or visiting for a different reason, we’re glad you’re here and appreciate the opportunity to tell you more about the important services we proudly deliver to the villages of Waunakee and Dane and the towns of Westport, Springfield, Vienna and Dane.

First and foremost, we don’t see ourselves only in terms of serving our communities but rather as an integral part of them. Our department includes a mix of full-time, part-time and volunteer medical professionals who live, work and play here, so we’re very invested in providing exceptional care and service to those we consider our friends and neighbors. 

As the area’s dedicated provider of emergency medical service our number one priority is providing care to the patient that is in front of us. Whether someone is facing a non-life threatening injury or major medical emergency, we know that a person who needs 911 service is feeling scared and vulnerable. We know that beyond the medical care or ambulance ride delivered, we have an obligation to provide reassurance in times of fear, to bring stability to situations that feel out of control and to lead with empathy when interacting with our patients as well as family members, friends or anyone else on the scene. We take the obligation to deliver life saving measures very seriously, but believe it is equally important to provide comfort and care.

We’d like to thank all of the civic and municipal leaders of the communities we serve for putting their trust in our team – a team I lead with great pride – to do the important work we do. We all have a common duty to ensure each one of us not only succeeds but excels in delivering exceptional patient care in every interaction with our constituents and those who visit our communities.

While we honor our strong history and tradition, we keep an eye firmly on the present moment and are excited to continue to build on our foundation of excellence as we adapt and evolve to meet the ever-changing needs of our community.
